Cranberry Sauce with Orange and Pineapple
Not your traditional holiday cranberry sauce.
Serves 2 Pints |
|1 1/2 cups sugar |
|1 cup water |
|4 cups fresh cranberries, rinsed |
|2 tablespoons orange zest |
|1 orange, peeled, seeds removed, and chopped fine |
|1/4 teaspoon ground cloves |
|1/8 teaspoon cinnamon |
|1/2 cup crushed pineapple, drained |
|1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
- Add sugar and water to a saucepan then bring water to a boil.
- Add cranberries, orange zest, chopped orange and cloves; simmer rapidly and stir often until cranberries pop open.
- Add cinnamon, crushed pineapple and walnuts; stir to combine. Cool then serve.
