Ginger, Soy & Brown Sugar Marinated Flank Steak

Serves 6


2 lb beef flank steak, trimmed
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup minced green onions
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
3 tablespoons sesame seeds
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon pepper


  1. Combine olive oil, soy sauce, green onions, brown sugar, garlic, sesame seeds, ginger and pepper in a large bowl to create marinade. Add steak to the marinade, coat steak well. Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator 4-6 hours, turning the meat occasionally.
  2. Remove steak from marinade, discard marinade. Place the meat on grill medium-high heat and close lid. Cook for 9-12 minutes, turning occasionally (for medium-rare). Transfer steak to a plate. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
