Caramelized Onion Dip
The perfect party dip of March Madness.
Serves 8 |
|2 tablespoons butter, (unsalted) |
|2 onions, (peeled, sliced thin) |
| Ground black pepper, (to taste) |
|8 oz. cream cheese |
|1 cup sour cream |
|2 tablespoons chives, (fresh, chopped) |
| Potato chips, (your preference, for serving) |
| Kosher salt, (to taste) |
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
- Add the onions and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are deep golden brown in color, 30 to 35 minutes. Remove onions from heat and let cool.
- Transfer onions to a medium-sized bowl. Add cream cheese, sour cream and chives; season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Stir ingredients until well mixed. Serve dip immediately with potato chips.
